The national youth leader of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Comrade Onyebuchi Eze, has emerged as the new chairman of the Forum of National Youth Leaders of Political Parties in Nigeria (FNYLPPN) after defeating Olajide Wolimoh of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) in a closely contested election held on Saturday in Abuja.

According to the official results announced by the Forum’s Electoral Committee, Eze secured 7 votes against Wolimoh’s 4 votes, with no voided ballots.

The election, conducted in accordance with the Forum’s electoral guidelines, was described as peaceful, transparent, and reflective of the unity and maturity of Nigeria’s young political leaders.

Other winners include Muhammad Sani Abdullahi (Accord Party), who was elected vice chairman with 8 votes; Amina Mama Yahaya (APM), elected legal adviser with 10 votes; and Ugoh Michael Tochi (APP), who also secured 10 votes to become treasurer.

In his acceptance remarks, Comrade Eze assured that under his leadership, the Forum would not serve as a “tool for the ruling party or an attack dog for any group,” but would rather function as a watchdog on government policies and a platform to protect and advance the interests of Nigerian youths.

Meanwhile, the PRP’s youth leader and runner-up, Comrade Olajide Wolimoh, in a post-election statement, congratulated the winners and reaffirmed his vision to transform the Forum into a “powerful platform for youth voices to be heard across political party lines,” pledging continued commitment to youth inclusion and innovation in governance.
