The Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC), in partnership with the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), is set to host a prestigious five-day Beach Volleyball Technical Coaches Course, sanctioned by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB).

The course will run from Tuesday, 4 November to Saturday, 8 November 2025, and will be held at the High-Performance Centre, located within the Moshood Abiola National Stadium complex in Abuja. This initiative, part of IOC’s global educational programmes facilitated through Olympic Solidarity, aims to elevate coaching standards across Nigeria.

Designed for at least 25 beach volleyball coaches nationwide, the course will enhance their skills and ensure they are trained to meet world-class coaching standards.

Leading the course will be Mr Francisco Javier Bosma Mínguez, a seasoned international expert appointed by the FIVB. Mr Bosma, a former elite beach volleyball player from Madrid, Spain, is notably recognised for winning a silver medal at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games. His extensive experience in high-level competition promises to offer participants valuable insights into contemporary beach volleyball techniques.

The curriculum will focus on several critical areas, including: beach volleyball techniques and strategies, tactical awareness, coaching methodology, and sports science and conditioning.

The subjects are designed to provide coaches with a well-rounded understanding of modern beach volleyball, fostering significant improvements in player performance at both national and international arenas.
