These claims, although sensational, warrant scrutiny due to inconsistencies, a lack of corroboration, and the history of exaggerated narratives in Indo-Pakistani military engagements.
The reported aerial engagements stem from a brief but intense conflict between India and Pakistan in early May 2025, triggered by a terrorist attack on April 22, 2025, in Pahalgam, Indian-administered Kashmir, which killed 26 people, mostly tourists. Indian Denial of Losses: India’s Chief of Defence Staff, General Anil Chauhan, acknowledged that the IAF suffered losses during Operation Sindoor but explicitly rejected Pakistan’s claim of downing six IAF jets, including four Rafales.
