The family of the late Mrs Caroline Lefishetu Musa has launched the Caroline Lefishetu Musa Foundation in her honour.
It is designed to enhance the quality of education and support vulnerable communities.
The event held in Lagos at the weekend was attended by family members, friends, community leaders, educators and partners to promote her dream of eradicating illiteracy in underserved communities in Nigeria.
The chairman of the foundation and son of the deceased, Patrick Ozoya Musa, eulogised his mother for her dedication to education and community progress.
“My mother will give anything to ensure that every child around her has the chance to go to school. She was selfless, unwavering in her belief that education could change a child’s future. The foundation is a way of respecting that legacy,” he said.
In his keynote address, Barrister Abu Ikaghe, a notable lawyer and former banker, stated that education widens horizons and transforms destinies.
He added that education helps individuals, families and communities.
