The Director of the FCT Directorate of Road Traffic Services (DRTS) Abdul Lateef Bello has successfully resolved a reported confrontation between a senior DRTS staff member and a junior Civil Defence officer during a joint operation.

Contrary to earlier reports of an alleged altercation at the Head of Service gate, the Director managed to amicably address the matter through internal communication with his counterpart from the Civil Defence.

According to him , It is natural for disagreements to occur, and in this case, the incident arose when the Civil Defence officer intercepted the operatives of the AEPB (Abuja Environmental Protection Board) and inadvertently disrespected the Director of Development Control.

This unintentional disrespect led to the senior DRTS staff member’s frustration.

The Civil Defence officer, unaware of the Development Control Director’s position, made a comment.

This comment provoked a response from the DRTS staff member, who defended the Development Control Director.

He said “It’s important to note that this incident was initially misreported.

“Both the DRTS and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) are part of the Ministerial Task Force and currently operate jointly.

“As with any family, occasional disagreements can arise, but security agencies, in general, remain united.
