In the wake of the tragic passing of its former leader, the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has appointed Mrs Nancy Sabanti Nathan, as its Acting Head of Service.
The appointment, which was announced in a press statement issued on Tuesday morning by the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the FCT Minister, Lere Olayinka, takes immediate effect.
Nathan’s elevation to the role followed the sudden death of the substantive Head of Service, Mrs Grace Adayilo, who passed away last week Monday.
The new acting head, the second female in the role, is expected to steer the affairs of the FCT civil service pending the appointment of a permanent successor.
Until her new appointment, Nathan was the permanent secretary at the Youth Development Secretariat of the FCTA, a position where she garnered significant administrative experience.
Her career within the administration includes a prior role as the director of Finance and Administration in the office of the minister of the FCT, a position that provided her with deep insight into the core financial and operational workings of the capital’s administration.
As the acting head of Service, Nathan, a member of the prestigious National Institute (mni), brings a wealth of experience and institutional knowledge to the role.
