The chairman of the FCT Golf Association, Mr. Akabom Enebong, has called on the organisers of the NOG Energy Week to establish a permanent annual golf tournament in Abuja.
His appeal came during the 2025 NOG Energy Week, which kicked off with an esteemed golf tournament hosted at the scenic TYB International Golf Resort. The event set a relaxed yet impactful tone for the week-long gathering focused on the oil and gas sector.
Situated within the Federal Capital Territory, TYB’s lush fairways welcomed golf enthusiasts, business leaders, and energy stakeholders from across Nigeria, creating a unique blend of sport and networking amidst a spirit of camaraderie and competition over the weekend.
Mr. Enebong, who not only participated in the tournament but also presented awards to the winners, expressed his appreciation to the organisers of NOG Energy Week and DMD Events for incorporating golf into the week’s activities once again.
“I urge them to continue supporting the sport in Abuja by making this tournament a regular fixture in the FCT. Golf is not merely a game; it serves as a tool for wellness, high-level networking, and community development, perfectly aligning with the spirit of NOG,” he stated.
The tournament also featured the Vice Captain and Lady Captain of TYB Golf Club, who added an element of sophistication to the event. Pro Oche, the longstanding tournament coordinator and current Captain of the FCT Golf Team, played an essential role in ensuring the smooth execution of the tournament through his leadership and experience.
