Head of Civil Service of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Dr Udo Samuel Atang, has said that the FCT under Nyesom Wike, is undergoing tremendous infrastructural development at a pace that has never been witnessed in the history of the territory.
Atang made the disclosure in New Karu, Nasarawa State, while declaring open the Step-Down Retreat and Training for FCTA Performance Managers.
He said the retreat which was aimed at driving the implementation of the performance bond signed by ministers in President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet would undoubtedly fast track the realisation of democracy dividends and overall improvement of the wellbeing of the residents of the territory and Nigerian citizens at large.
The head of service who was represented at the occasion by the permanent secretary of Common Services, FCTA, Bunmi Olowookere further said that it is not surprising that FCT is witnessing torrents of infrastructural overhaul considering the minister’s track records of achievements spanning over two decades of public service career.
He added that these myriads of achievements have been made possible due to the minister’s zero tolerance on sloppy jobs, negligence as well as delivering below expectations and behind schedule.
Atang who provided insight on some of the efforts the FCT administration has been making towards addressing some concerns and challenges that are being raised by some FCT residents and stakeholders, revealed that concerted efforts are being made towards improving project reporting, enhancing preparedness and reinforcing her operational framework.
The HoS who acknowledged the good works of the special adviser to the president on policy and coordination/head central delivery coordination unit, Hadiza Bala Usman, added that the FCT minister would continue to collaborate with her office to achieve the goals the president promised to Nigerians.
