The Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs said it has verified and certified about 110 intervention and constituency projects across the six geopolitical zones as at the 3rd Quarter of 2025 with verifications and certifications currently ongoing.

Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Hon. Zaphaniah Jisalo disclosed this in Friday during the Stakeholders’ Interactive Forum on Implementation of 2025 Zonal Intervention/ Constituency Project in Abuja.

Jisalo also revealed that these projects include school renovations, borehole installation as well as agricultural empowerment initiative, medical outreach programmes and street lighting projects.

The minister promised that his ministry will strengthen its engagement with beneficiary communities to ensure they take full ownership of all zonal intervention/constituency projects.

While emphasising that project implementation is often challenging due to the ambitious and diverse nature of the projects, Jisalo advised that strong capacity on the part of public officials as well as sense of ownership by beneficiary communities were critical drivers of quality, effectiveness, timeliness and efficiency in delivering dividends to the people.

Jisalo who was represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Onwusoro Maduka, also drew the attention of MDAs to the provisions of the extant laws guiding the implementation of these projects, warning that there are sanctions for non-compliance, including prosecution by the anti-graft agencies.

The minister also reiterated that the engagement is expected to serve as a veritable platform for interaction and cross-fertilisation of ideas on effective monitoring, evaluation and verification procedures for payment purposes as well as safeguard against poor or non-implementation of projects.
