Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago says the state government is working with the federal government to rehabilitate over 300, 000 residents of the state displaced as a result of insecurity.

Bago told journalists at a news conference in Minna yesterday in Minna that those affected were from 10 local government areas which are currently under one form of security threat or the other.

He said every time statistics about insecurity in the state continued to vary but the federal government was helping to mitigate the situation.

He said the federal government through the ministry of humanitarian affairs had distributed palliatives to 1,000 vulnerable people who suffered under insecurity and natural disasters.

He said the people were being encouraged to go back to their homes while the federal government was trying to ensure that the security challenges were overcome.

According to the governor,  the state is having challenges in water supply, electricity and insecurity but the government was doing everything possible to overcome them.
