Federal government has reiterated its commitment to the development of the country’s youths, especially in the area of skills acquisition and digital training with a view to empowering them to compete favourably with their counterparts globally.

The outgoing minister of sports and youth development, Mr Sunday Dare, gave the assurance during the weekend after the “4th Specialised Technical Meeting on Youth, Culture and Sports (STC-YCS-4)” held at the African Union headquarters, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

He said the commitment of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration to youth development in the country had again resulted in Nigeria’s elevation at the African Union Summit.

Dare said experts from African Union member states deliberated on the progress made on implementation of the STC-YCS-3 held earlier in Algiers, Algeria in October 2018, the theme of the event, as well as on specific issues pertaining to the three sectors.
