A group, Umueri Progressive Forum (UPF) of Anambra East local government area of Anambra State has appealed to the federal government and Governor Charles Soludo to intervene in a land dispute ravaging the community.
UPF president, Ikemba Buchi Diboh, in a statement yesterday, accused the deputy governor, Gilbert Ibezim, of dismantling a multimillion-naira billboard mounted in the town.
Diboh recalled how several attacks were carried out by Nsugbe people against Umueri which prompted them to put up a billboard a distance from the boundary area, to stop further attack.
According to him, the Umueri people were still in search of three missing persons from the community following the recent invasion by Nsugbe youths.
“The group is asking the federal government to call the deputy governor to order, as the place the billboard was mounted was not in any dispute, requesting the federal government to intervene and save the community from unholy gang up to wipe them out of their inheritance,” he said.
