Federal Poly Bida Matriculates 5,000 Students, Introduces Teaching Of AI

The Federal Polytechnic Bida has matriculated 5,000 students for the 2024/2025 academic session and started teaching and learning of Artificial Intelligence ( AI ) and other related technology.
In the same vein, the institution is to commence courses in Health Sciences before the end of the academic session.

The rector of the institution, Dr Haruna Baba Aliyu who made this known at the 2024/2025 Academic Session Matriculation disclosed that the measures were to provide quality education and manpower for the nation especially in the health sector.

He said the teaching and learning of AI and other technological innovations aimed at meeting the country‘s technological needs.

Dr Haruna said the time has come for polytechnics to be more focused on their mandates to transform the nation‘s scientific and technological space.

The rector claimed that the polytechnic has embarked on many researches capable of proffering solution to some of the challenges facing the country.

He explained that the polytechnic currently runs over 70 accredited courses , maintaining that the mission of the polytechnic was to achieve the vision of the current government in the education sector by ensuring the production of quality and employable graduates.

He assured the polytechnic community that the school will not tolerate any form of cultism, examination malpractice, or cybercrime, pointing out that all applicants‘ results were verified before admission.

This year‘s matriculation was done alongside the institution‘s affiliated programmes with Federal University of Technology Minna and Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University Lapai.
