The management of the Federal University, Birnin Kebbi (FUBK), has admitted a total of 2,320 students into the 37 programmes run by the insitution for the 2025/ 2026 academic session.
This was disclosed by the vice chancellor, Prof Muhammad Zaiyan Umar, at the 11th matriculation held at the Senate Building of the main campus of the University.
Umar urged the newly matriculated students to uphold discipline, adhere to the university’s regulations, and remain focused on their academic pursuits.
He said, “You are counselled to avoid negative influences and strive to be worthy Ambassadors of this great institution”
We thanked the parents and guardians for your trust and also appreciated the staff and stakeholders for your unwavering dedication in being instrumental in making FUBK what it is today, “he added.
The VC also commended the student Union leaders for galvanising support for various activities on campus and for remaining steadfast in pursuing collective welfare gains for all students of the University.
He noted that his doors shall remain open to all to work together and make the FUBK a student-friendly University.
According to the VC, during the year under review, the University commenced the construction of a dedicated building for the Students Affairs Division, two brand new hostels on the main campus for both male and female students, the rehabilitation work of two male hostels ie Hostels A and B and additionally the rehabilitation of the burnt female hostel at the College of Health Sciences Amanawa campus.
