The Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA) has inspected the road maintenance projects it executed with a length of 16 kilometres in North East II which comprises Gombe, Bauchi and Adamawa States under its special intervention called “Operation Connect Your Destination.”
Speaking with journalists after inspecting some of the repaired roads in Gombe, the leader of the FERMA delegation, Mansur Hamma-Adama explained that the Operation Connect Your Destination is a special intervention on maintenance and repairs of all federal roads in the country executed by the agency at the end of last year 2023 under direct labour.
According to him, the intervention was aimed at making roads passable for vehicles across the federation during festive periods.
He noted that the work done includes patching of potholes and repairs of failed sections of the roads and lauded the handlers of the projects for quality work.
“The agency remains committed to delivering good and quality roads for better travel experience to all commuters, and also connecting people to their destinations,” he said.
Also speaking, the Acting zonal director of FERMA North-East II, Engineer Irikefe-Eugene Baror, called on road users to make good use of the roads by avoiding reckless driving and things capable of spoiling the roads.
