The Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, who made this known, said President Bola Tinubu-led administration is determined to engage and partner with the private sector in developing the agriculture sector.

The Minister commended the firm’s founder, John Olajide, for his efforts at transforming the country’s agriculture value chain during his working visit and tour of the 10,000 hectares of the Agbeyewa farm in Ipao-Ekiti, Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti.

Describing the farm as an investment that would promote wealth creation and improve livelihoods in line with the administration’s vision, he said the federal government would support initiatives that benefit the people and society.

While calling on other private organisations to emulate Agbeyewa Farm by investing hugely in the agriculture industry, Kyari said, ” In Agbeyewa farm, I see wealth creation, I see the uplifting of livelihoods, and I see food security, which aligns with Mr President’s vision of renewed hope.

“I am highly impressed and satisfied with the efforts they have made in just two years, and I want to acknowledge the vision of the founder, Mr John Olajide; this is an institution, and we are ready to partner with them to achieve the president’s agenda in food Security. They have also promised to scale up their operations in the coming months, and we wish them well. This visit is an eye-opener, and our responsibility is to report back to Mr. President on how investments like this can be supported and enhanced.”

Responding, the Managing Director of Agbeyewa Farms Ltd, Seyi Aiyeleso, voiced the firm’s commitment to becoming Africa’s leading agro-allied enterprise, fostering sustainable agricultural investments and community empowerment.

According to Aiyeleso, Agbeyewa Farms had already cultivated 1,500 hectares of cassava across four farms in Ipao, Itapaji, Igede, Iyemero, and Ikosu. By 2026, the company plans to operate on over 10,000 hectares, spanning nine communities.
