PSM NIG, also called on the leadership of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria IPMAN to consider the suffering of the common Nigerians who suffer to buy  commodity at unregulated and expensive prices, which has brought unbearable adverse effects on Nigerians

President Progressive Students Movement PSM NIG. Comr Okereafor Bestman made the call in a statement shared with journalists on Monday in Abuja.

Okereafor said the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission, formerly the Department of Petroleum Resources has recently been performing below expectations.

President Muhammadu Buhari as a matter of urgency finds a long-lasting solution to the issues of scarcity of Naira notes as well as the anti-masses CBN policies which have practically brought absolute hardship and killed many small-scale businesses in the last couple of weeks.

While urging Mr. president to consider sacking the CBN governor, he said, “we are calling on President Buhari to rise to his responsibilities by putting an end to the issue of fuel scarcity, hoarding, and unregulated sales of the commodity”.

He also urged Buhari to implore NNPC to find means of providing an adequate supply of the commodity nationwide to ease the suffering of Nigerians as well as long queues being observed nationwide.

“It should be noted that should the economic hardship persist unaddressed, it is most capable of bringing out the beast in Nigerians, which may hurt the forthcoming general elections.

“We are calling on the commission led by Mr. Gbenga Komolafe to promptly rise to the occasion while charging his men on the need for proactiveness, and diligence basically to rescue the Nation from the scarcity, hoarding of the commodity and unregulated sale of the product.”
