Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has been honoured with the “Nurse-Friendly Governor 2026” Award by the Commonwealth Nurses and Midwives Federation, in recognition of his administration’s commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery and supporting the health workforce.

The award was received on his behalf by Dr. Aminu Aliyu I., Principal Special Assistant on Primary Healthcare, who represented the governor at the ceremony.

Speaking while receiving the award, Dr. Aminu said the recognition reflects the administration’s sustained healthcare reforms, strategic investments, and progressive workforce policies since 2019.

According to him, the honour underscores deliberate efforts by the state government to improve working conditions for nurses and midwives, expand healthcare infrastructure, and enhance service delivery across Adamawa State.

“This award stands as a testament to a government that prioritizes care, empowers its health professionals, and continues to strengthen systems that save lives,” he said.

The Fintiri administration has implemented a range of initiatives focused on workforce development, improved welfare, and upgrading of health facilities, contributing to better healthcare outcomes in the state.
