Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has pledged to join hands with all citizens to build a state that will be proud of itself in the future.
The governor spoke through his deputy, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, during the grand reception on Saturday evening at the Banquet Hall of the Government House, Yola, to honour newly promoted senior Police officers to DIGs at the force headquarters, Abuja. He said Adamawa belongs to all, hence the need to put hands together for development.
The Adamawa State government organised the grand reception to honour Sahabo Abubakar Yahaya, deputy inspector general of police, Department of Finance and Administration, Force Headquarters, Abuja, and Bzigu Yakubu Dali, deputy inspector general of police, Department of Operations, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
Fintiri appreciated the hard work of the newly elevated Police Officers, who earned such promotion in the Nigeria Police Service.
He told the new DIGs that Adamawa would expect more from them in service to the nation.
Earlier in his opening remarks, the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, represented by the AIG Zone 3 Yola, Adeniran Kunle Akinwale, described the promotion of the two DIGs at the Force Headquarters as a reward for hard work and commitment to duty.
He used the medium and told the celebrants that the reward for hard work is to continue working harder. He commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his giant strides in development in Adamawa State that would attract more investors.
In response on behalf of the celebrants, DIG Sahabo Abubakar Yahaya, appreciated Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for the grand reception in their honour, pledged commitment to continue serving the country with integrity.
The DIGs hail from the Hong and Madagali local government areas of Adamawa State, respectively.
