Fintiri Reaffirms Commitment To Strengthening Healthcare

Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening healthcare services and building a healthier and more productive society.

Fintiri stated this during the official commissioning of the Optimum Laboratories Limited facility in Yola.

The governor, who was represented by his deputy, Prof. Kaletapwa George Farauta, said Adamawa State University (ADSU), Mubi, had entered into a partnership with Optimum Laboratories Limited as part of the government’s efforts to strengthen healthcare delivery, medical training and research in the state.

Farauta explained that the partnership was particularly important following the establishment of the College of Medical Sciences at ADSU, noting that the collaboration would provide opportunities for training, research and improved healthcare services.

She commended the management of Optimum Laboratories Limited for its initiative and foresight, describing the facility as a significant contribution to the development of the healthcare sector in Adamawa State.

The deputy governor also urged residents to patronise healthcare facilities within the state, saying increased confidence in local medical services would help reduce the need to seek treatment outside Adamawa.

The Chairman of the occasion, represented by Dr. Joshua Barde, congratulated the management of Optimum Laboratories Limited on the establishment of the facility and called for the implementation of a robust quality management system to guarantee accurate, reliable and consistent diagnostic results.

He said the initiative demonstrated a commitment to quality diagnosis and improved healthcare delivery.

Speaking at the event, the Chief Executive Officer of Optimum Laboratories Limited, Muhammad Sani Umar, said the laboratory was established to provide reliable, timely and high-quality diagnostic services that would contribute meaningfully to healthcare delivery.

According to him, the facility was designed to provide a structured, efficient and patient-focused environment for diagnostic services, bringing together key laboratory functions while ensuring effective workforce management, quality control, equipment management, staff safety and efficient service delivery.

Umar said the company was also prepared to support future expansion, adopt emerging technologies and strengthen collaboration with healthcare and research institutions.

He reiterated the organisation’s commitment to becoming a trusted laboratory partner through the provision of innovative, timely and quality medical laboratory services anchored on excellence, integrity, innovation and continuous improvement.

The event also featured goodwill messages from the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Barrister Leader Leneke, and the Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Hon. Chubado Muhammad, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Pharmacy Zirra Bubanani, among other speakers.

The speakers commended the establishment of the facility, noting that it would expand access to quality diagnostic services for residents of Adamawa State while contributing to improved healthcare delivery across the Northeast and Nigeria.
