Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has reiterated his administration’s commitment to investing in education and youth development as a strategy to curb insecurity and drive sustainable growth in Adamawa State.

Fintiri made this known while receiving the Turkish Ambassador to Nigeria, Mehmet Poroy, at the Government House in Yola. He expressed appreciation to the Turkish government for its support to internally displaced persons (IDPs), particularly through the provision of food and non-food items, as well as its partnership in the education sector.

The governor disclosed that over 100 students from Adamawa State are currently studying in Turkey and performing well academically. He added that the state government plans to sponsor more students and expand opportunities for young people through education and skills acquisition programmes.

Fintiri also highlighted the establishment of a School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the state, aimed at equipping youths with practical, job-ready skills. He called for deeper collaboration with Turkey to strengthen skill acquisition centres and broaden development opportunities.
