Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has called on political leaders in Northern Adamawa to set aside personal interests and support candidates based on character, competence and commitment to the development of the people.

Governor Fintiri made the call when he received political stakeholders and supporters from the Northern Senatorial Zone at the Government House in Yola.

The delegation visited the Governor to express appreciation following the selection of Adamu Kamale as the All Progressives Congress (APC) Deputy Governorship candidate to Ahmed Tijjani Galadima for the 2027 elections.

Fintiri urged the people of the zone to remain united, stressing that their collective strength would be critical to determining the political future of Northern Adamawa.

He also directed political stakeholders to return to their respective communities and commence early mobilisation across wards and polling units ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The Governor appealed to political leaders to avoid division and work collectively to attract greater development and political representation to the zone.

According to him, Northern Adamawa has a long history of political participation and democratic engagement, and its people should continue to support policies that promote development, unity and good governance.

Fintiri also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as policies that had helped states and local governments manage their financial challenges.

The Governor expressed confidence that the Northern Senatorial Zone would play a significant role in the 2027 elections and urged stakeholders to remain committed to the APC.

Earlier, leaders of the delegation, including Bubakari Kamale and Ambassador Kelvin Peter, who spoke on behalf of the people of Madagali and Michika, as well as Musa Isa Konkol from Maiha, thanked Governor Fintiri for supporting the choice of Adamu Kamale as the Deputy Governorship candidate.

They described Kamale as an experienced and trusted political leader capable of contributing significantly to the development of Northern Adamawa and the state at large.

Musa Isa Konkol said the people of Maiha were pleased with the choice of Kamale and pledged their support for the APC in the 2027 elections.

The delegation also urged the incoming administration to sustain and build on the achievements of Governor Fintiri in order to ensure continued development and improved wellbeing for the people of Adamawa State.
