The fire which was reported to have started at about 5am destroyed offices of the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Administration, the chaplain and that of the chief imam.
Spokesman of the state police command, ASP Ahmad Rufa’i, told newsmen that a section of the one storey administration block was burnt.

He said, “Some offices were razed by the inferno which include the office of the Assistant Commissioner, Administration; the confidential office and that of the Chief Imam of the Command. The fire also destroyed our chaplain’s office and the office of the Chief Superintendent. Administration and property were destroyed, but there was no injury or death.”

The spokesman said there was no suspicion of foul play, as there was nobody in the section when the fire broke out. He, however said an investigation was in progress to unravel the cause of the fire and extent of damage.
