TVET-UK-Nigerian Limited, has lauded the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) for its contributions to skills acquisition and entrepreneurship development.
This commendation came during a courtesy visit of the company’s chairman, Adeleke Adefala to the NDE’s headquarters in Abuja, he highlighted the directorate’s efforts in providing viable employment opportunities for Nigerians.

Adefala urged the federal government to fully integrate the NDE into its employment solution strategies, citing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s inclusion of skills development in the educational loan fund policy.
He emphasised the need for the NDE to play a central role in enhancing the nation’s workforce while the government focuses on financing.

Additionally, Adefala suggested that the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) should collaborate with the NDE, given its extensive experience in skills development and nationwide presence.
In response, the NDE’s director-general, Mallam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo, stressed that while educational qualifications are crucial, they are often insufficient for job procurement and sustenance in Nigeria.
He advocated for a stronger emphasis on vocational, technical, and entrepreneurship training, particularly for the youth.

He also expressed satisfaction with the current administration’s focus on skill acquisition for blue-collar jobs and confirmed the NDE’s commitment to this policy through its diverse, eco-friendly, and marketable schemes.
He affirmed the NDE’s readiness to work closely with TVET-UK-Nigeria Limited to tackle the challenge of widespread unemployment in the country.
