Systegra Technologies Limited, a Tier-5 Mobile Virtual Network Enabler (MVNE) licensed by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), has joined forces with global telecom leader Amdocs to provide advanced mobile services to underserved communities across Nigeria.
The strategic partnership is set to expand access to 3G, 4G, 5G, and IoT connectivity, aiming to bridge the digital divide in regions that have long been excluded from the benefits of modern telecommunications.
As a subsidiary of Interswitch Group, Systegra Technologies is well-positioned to enable Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs) of all tiers to deliver these services without the heavy burden of infrastructure investments. This collaboration with Amdocs will empower MVNOs to offer a broad range of services, driving competition, improving service quality, and ultimately lowering costs for consumers in underserved areas.
The cornerstone of this initiative is the Amdocs ConnectX platform, which integrates advanced Business Support Systems (BSS), Online Charging System (OCS), customer relationship management (CRM), and payment solutions. Hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS), ConnectX is designed for rapid deployment and scalability, allowing MVNOs to launch services in just a few weeks and scale as demand increases. With over 50 TM Forum-compliant APIs, the platform ensures seamless integration and operational efficiency, providing a solid foundation for expanding connectivity into new regions.
The group managing director and CEO of Interswitch Group, Mitchell Elegbe, while speaking to journalists, expressed confidence in the partnership’s potential to transform the Nigerian telecom landscape, adding that “Amdocs’ proven ability to rapidly bring new services to market, coupled with their multi-tenant capabilities, perfectly aligns with our goal to empower MVNOs and their customers with an exceptional digital experience.”
Amdocs’ group president of Technology, Anthony Goonetilleke, emphasised the importance of the collaboration, saying, “We are proud to support Systegra Technologies’ mission to expand mobile connectivity in underserved areas. Our SaaS-based ConnectX platform will enable them to deliver innovative services while minimising the need for extensive IT infrastructure.”
The managing director of Systegra Technologies, Jonah Adams reaffirmed the company’s commitment to fostering inclusivity, adding that “This partnership strengthens our position as a key enabler in Nigeria’s telecom ecosystem, ensuring that mobile users in underserved regions will have access to better services and more choices.”
The collaboration aligns with the Nigerian Communications Commission’s (NCC) strategic objectives to promote innovation and competition, especially in underserved regions. As Systegra Technologies prepares to roll out a suite of advanced services, including IoT, 3G, 4G, and 5G connectivity, Nigeria is poised to make significant strides in providing equitable mobile services to its citizens.
