Speaking at the presentation of the grand prize at the head office of the bank in Lagos at the weekend, FirstBank’s group executive, e-Business & Retail Products, Chuma Ezirim, noted that the bank in partnership with Verve Card initiated the promo to reward its Verve card holders, adding that it gave out over N50 million in prizes.

“We are excited over the response of our customers to this promo. We working with our card scheme will be promising that this is not a one-off event. We would try as much as possible to ensure that we sustain it. It is FirstBank’s mission to continue to provide the best financial services possible through our various products, services and initiatives.

“We also will continue to engage our partners especially Verve to ensure that we reward patronage of our customers. We are certain that we would continue to use our various digital channels to add value to our financial transaction services.”

On his part, chief executive officer at Verve International, Vincent Ogbunude, said “the relationship between Verve and Firstbank goes a long way. It has been a long standing relationship for several years. You might be aware that Firstbank obviously is a leader in its own field. So as well, Verve is the leading payment card out of Africa, especially in Nigeria.

“We have been collaborating with Firstbank for quite a lot of years. So what we have decided to do is that we have come together to reward customers. Both Firstbank and Verve have a common desire to reward customers, to appreciate customers to give value to customers and to create the best experience.
“So having this promo is a way of manifesting our desire to do so. We are interested in keeping this going. So we expect that we will be doing more this year and beyond. And who knows maybe we will have even bigger grand prizes going forward” he stated.
Speaking with Journalists after receiving keys to a brand new 2022 Suzuki S-Presso car, the grand prize winner, the Managing Director of Kanwal International Limited, Olakunle Animashaun, said he never believed that he won until he was handed the keys to the car.
“Initially I thought it was a scam because someone called me from FirstBank that I won a car and was told to come. My wife persuaded me to go and they said congratulations that I won a car. These day there are a lot of scam and even when they were calling me I did not pick the call for three days until my wife picked it and they told me to come to the head office.
“I did not believe until when I got here, saw the car and the key was handed over to me. I thank FirstBank and Verve for this opportunity given to me. I pray that God will continue to bless them.
