Crafted with the intention to differentiate within the stout category and cater to the growing demand for premium and diverse taste repertoires, Legend Twist is poised to captivate the hearts and palates of consumers.

Nigeria’s beer market is experiencing a surge in craft breweries, as consumers seek unique and locally brewed options.

According to the African Development Bank (AfDB), the middle-income class makes up about 20% of the Nigerian population, which is estimated at more than 195 million, and these people are expected to pursue a quality lifestyle and consumer products.

Similarly, the volume of the Beer market is estimated to reach 2.1bn L by 2028 and the market is projected to experience a volume growth of 2.0% in 2025.

Market data indicates that beer is the most widely consumed alcoholic beverage with a 55% market share, followed by spirits (30%) and wine (15%).

Indeed, Legend Twist is a bold departure from the traditional stout experience, unlocking new dimensions of taste and style.

With a lower ABV, non-bitter profile, and a stylish presentation in sleek 33cl cans and 33cl RGB bottles, Legend Twist introduces a delightful fusion of fruity flavors – pineapple, lemon, and ginger.

Sharing insights into the inspiration behind Legend Twist, Portfolio Manager, Dark Beer, Nigerian Breweries Plc,  Ita Bassey said, “In crafting Legend Twist, we wanted to offer consumers more than just a beverage; we aimed to deliver a transformative experience.

“This brand is a testament to our commitment to innovation and satisfying the diverse tastes of our consumers. Legend Twist’ is not just a drink; it’s an ode to those who crave something extraordinary.”

According to Bassey, “Legend Twist was inspired by a desire to break new ground in the stout category. Due to Nigeria’s huge market potential, with a growing demand for innovation and variety among consumers, Legend Twist fits seamlessly into our strategy of offering dynamic choices to our consumers, showcasing our commitment to pushing boundaries and redefining beer experiences which is a big part of our mission of brewing a better world.

The decision behind choosing pineapple, ginger, and lemon as the key elements for the unique flavor profiles of Legend Twist were meticulously crafted to provide a diverse and exciting experience.”

The brewer wanted a trio that not only complements the rich stout base but also offers a range of options to suit different preferences; Pineapple brings a tropical vibrancy, ginger adds a spicy kick, and lemon introduces a refreshing zest.

With the expected average volume per person in the Nigerian  Beer market to rise to 8.32L in 2024, Legend Twist encapsulates the spirit of exploration, daring consumers to enter a world where flavours intertwine, creating a resonant experience.
