Nottingham Forest have formally tabled a £40 million bid for Everton’s 19-year-old midfielder Harrison Armstrong, according to sources close to the negotiations.
The proposal, which also includes a future sell-on clause, represents a significant late-window gamble by Forest as they look to bolster their squad before the transfer deadline. While Everton are not expected to entertain the offer given Armstrong’s projected trajectory, Forest remain hopeful that the substantial fee could force a reconsideration.
The England Under-19 international has broken into the first-team picture at Goodison Park this season, amassing 23 senior appearances. He most recently featured in the starting lineup for Everton’s 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace.
At present, there has been no official response from the Merseyside club regarding Forest’s approach.
