A former managing director of Owena Press Limited, publishers of The Hope Newspapers, and former News Editor of The Herald Newspapers, Chief Ademola Adetula, is dead.
Adetula, the Sasere of Owo Kingdom in Ondo State, passed on yesterday, according to a statement issued on behalf of the family by Alhaji Mas’ud Adebimpe.
Adetula’s contributions to journalism and public service earned him widespread admiration during his lifetime.
The deceased was also a national trustee of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).
According to the statement, Adetula devoted several decades of his life to journalism, serving in various capacities, including as news editor of The Herald Newspapers, before becoming the managing director of Owena Press Limited, the publisher of The Hope Newspapers.
The deceased was a compassionate leader and a man of integrity who impacted many lives through his professional excellence and commitment to community development.
Adetula would have celebrated his 74th birthday on 6th August, 2026.
The family said burial arrangements would be announced later.
The statement read, “With total submission to the will of Almighty God, we announce the passing of our beloved Chief Ademola Adetula”.
He is survived by his family, friends, professional colleagues and numerous associates who mourn his passing.
