Dr Emmanuel Musa Awareness Forum has urged the All Progressives Congress governorship aspirants in Adamawa State to stop using the name of the national security adviser (NSA) Malam Nuhu Ribadu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The chairman of the forum, Mr Annas Bala, urged the aspirants to canvass support based on their individual pedigrees and legacies to convince delegates to vote for them.
Bala said the president of the Emnamu Foundation and a governorship hopeful of the APC, Dr Emmanuel Musa, has identified 2026 as a year of high political activity, which will be characterised by alignment and realignment, negotiations, compromises, consensus, and all forms of impetus towards clinching the party’s ticket.
He said Musa had warned against the tendencies of some aspirants heating the polity, eclaring it as unhealthy for “our political space at a time like this.”
According to Bala, Musa specifically frowned at how some politicians clandestinely use the name of the revered NSA to gain political relevance.
He said, “Malam Nuhu Ribadu is a notable and respected personality with an impeccable record of services, proven track records and unquestionable integrity.
“Throwing his name for political expediency is unacceptable at a point like this. Malam Ribadu is a global citizen recognised for his upright posture. Reducing him to the lowest ebb for an office of a state governor is a cheap shenanigan we should not accept as a people.
“If Malam Ribadu goes down, all of us in Adamawa will not only be affected, but cheated politically. We therefore cannot afford to sit idly by and see unpopular visitors to our dear state, Adamawa, play cheap politics with his name,” he said.
Bala said that Musa is ever ready to support a consensus candidate to ensure APC wins the state in the 2027 polls.
