Forum To Honour Buratai, Bwala, Others

Borno South Stakeholders Forum, an advocacy group fighting enduring marginalisation of the Southern senatorial zone, is set to honour prominent indigenes who have contributed significantly to their collective struggle and aspiration.

The proposed Savannah State comprises Gwoza, Askira/ Uba, Chibok, Damboa, Biu, Shani, Kwaya Kusar, Bayo and Hawul.

A press statement by Yusuf G. Mshelizza stated that those honoured come from different callings, religions, local governments, and ethnicities.

“They are the pioneer Registrars, Teachers Registration Council, and a prominent educationist.

“Mr Anjikwi Musa Ciwar, OON (Ubandoma of Biu), a prominent jurist, influential judge, and former chief judge of the Federal High Court, Hon.Justice Ibrahim Auta Ndahi, OFR (Madakin Biu).

“Others are H.E Gen.Tukur Yusuf Buratai (Betara of Biu), former chief of army staff and ambassador.”
The statement further stated that Dr Daniel Bwala is a prominent lawyer in multiple jurisdictions and the president’s special media and policy communication adviser.

“Also, Mrs Asta Paul Thahal ( Gimbiyan Garkida), educationist and philanthropist; Hon. Dr Asabe Vilita Bashir, a prominent politician and current DG of Maryam Babangida Women Development Centre, Abuja; Hon. Kudla Milinda Satumari (Haske), a reputable management consultant, successful businessman, politician and philanthropist; Engr Dr Moses Mele Gadzama, FNSE, a renowned technocrat; Dr Waziri A.Samuel, director of finance and accounts, North East Development Commission, amongst others will be honoured.

“Dr Mrs Lucy Surhyel Newman, world-renowned private sector technocrat; DCG Filibus Bitrus, a retired public servant and philanthropist; Rt. Hon. Dr Haruna Mshelia, a medical doctor and impactful 9th House of Representatives member, Askira/ Uba and Hawul constituency; Dr Satumari Abdul Aziz Samaila, chartered accountant and philanthropist; Hon. Inna Maryam Ciroma, CON, a prominent politician who served with distinction as Minister for Women Affairs, is also one of those to be honoured.”
