A non-governmental organisation, Charity Ayo Foundation, has wrapped up its flagship Teenagers in Tech programme, a transformative one-month initiative that empowered over 300 teenagers from Bariga and the surrounding communities in Lagos State with essential digital skills.

In her opening address at the event, the founder of the Foundation, Miss Charity Olaifa, said the programme aimed to leverage smartphones for innovation and entrepreneurship to tackle Nigeria’s youth unemployment crisis, which is at 53.4 per cent for ages 15-24, based on the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) Q3 2025 report.

Olaifa also stated that although the global community has given teenagers powerful tools and access, proper guidance is still lacking.

She explained that TINT seeks to rebuild, renew, and reshape young Africans’ perspectives to prepare them for leadership in the digital economy.

Participants underwent comprehensive training in graphic design using platforms such as Canva and Adobe Express, CapCut video editing, and strategic digital marketing, all guided by professionals from Lagos’s creative and tech sectors.

The sessions focused on practical skills, enabling trainees to produce content ready for the market across platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.

The programme culminated in a certificate ceremony, where all participants received accredited certificates of participation, endorsed by Charity Ayo Foundation and its strategic partner Evnyn Synergy.

This milestone not only confirms their newly gained skills but also prepares them for internships, scholarships, and entry-level positions in Nigeria’s rapidly growing tech industry, which PwC forecasts will add $88 billion to the economy by 2027.
