The Alkali Sada Cares Foundation (ASCF) has launched a major empowerment initiative targeting 16,000 women and youth across 16 local government areas of Katsina State, beginning with 1,000 beneficiaries from Katsina local government.
The wife of the Katsina State Governor, Hajiya Zulaihat Dikko Radda, flagged off the programme through her representative, the wife of the chief of staff, Government House Katsina, Hajiya Hauwa Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir.
She described the initiative as timely and aligned with the administration’s commitment to supporting women and youth with sustainable livelihood opportunities.
The chairman of Katsina local government area, Alhaji Isah Miqdat represented by the councilor of Shinkafi A Ward , commended the foundation’s foresight.
He assured that the local government is prepared to partner with similar organisations to uplift vulnerable groups and reduce economic hardship at the grassroots.
Earlier, the founder of the foundation, Hajiya Zainab Sada, said the programme was designed to help women and youth become self-reliant and economically stable.
She revealed that the empowerment scheme will cover 16,000 beneficiaries across 16 LGAs.
Some beneficiaries who spoke during the event expressed gratitude to the foundation and pledged to make good use of the support to improve their livelihoods.
