Foundation Rewards Lagos Street Sweepers With Cash, Welfare Packages

A Lagos based non for profit organization, In Service Of Humanity Charity Foundation has rewarded forty (40) Lagos Waste Management Authority(LAWMA) Staff for their outstanding performance in keeping the metropolis of Lagos clean at all times.

Speaking at the event held at the Lawma Ikeja Office, In Service Of Humanity (ISOH) Director, Mrs. Nnene Bejide said the act is targeted at the empowerment of low-income earners in the society as they deserve to be recognized for their efforts as well.

Bejide said the foundation is giving back to society through a meaningful channel, as it is committed to providing assistance to communities and individuals in need.

She stressed that it is right to appreciate these individuals who are out early to
keep Lagos clean and encourage them by letting them know they are seen and appreciated, as this intervention will be a quarterly event to aid this set of low income earners while there is a room for expansion to widen the intervention of the foundation course.

Lawma Regional Manager, Mr Kazeem Akeem lauds the effort of the foundation for considering the average Nigerians like the Lawma sweepers for recognition with welfare packages with cash as a noble feat that individuals and corporate organizations should emulate as the beneficiaries cuts across the West, South, East and Central districts of Lagos.

IHOS Director stressed further that the charity foundation has more programme in line with the medical outreach for individuals with eye problems that need to undergo surgery as they catered to the free eye operation.

As part of the foundations charity programme, there is an upcoming free breast cancer check upcoming up in the last quarter of the year for early detection of breast cancer for women.

She added that the foundation handed cash and welfare packages as a means of alleviating the current state of economic hardship around the country.
