The Kaduna State Transport Regulatory Authority Kaduna State Transport Regulatory Authority has hosted a delegation from the French Development Agency on a two-day technical mission to assess progress on the Kaduna Bus Rapid Transit (KBRT) project as the state advances its urban transport modernisation agenda.

The visit focused on reviewing milestones achieved on the project and identifying areas requiring further technical and financial support to ensure smooth implementation.

The delegation also paid a courtesy visit to the Permanent Secretary of the Kaduna State Ministry of Works and Public Infrastructure, Alhaji Ashiru Abdu Na Abdu, where discussions centred on project status and implementation support needs.

Speaking during the engagement, the Director-General of KADSTRA, Engr. Inuwa Ibrahim, said the mission was aimed at evaluating progress and strengthening collaboration among all implementing partners.

He explained that the KBRT project forms a key part of the state government’s transport reform agenda designed to improve mobility, reduce congestion, and enhance safe and efficient public transportation.

The AFD Country Director, Jacky Amprou Jacky Amprou, reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to supporting the successful delivery of the project, noting that the mission would help assess achievements and determine areas requiring additional intervention.

He expressed optimism about the project’s prospects, citing the level of commitment demonstrated by the Kaduna State Government and other stakeholders.

The Permanent Secretary said the state was confident of the project’s success, adding that similar transport systems had delivered strong results in other parts of the world.

He assured continued government support and expressed hope that the project’s groundbreaking ceremony would proceed as planned.
