The Niger Delta Advocacy Network for Good Governance and Transparency, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to  sack the group chief executive officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, Mele Kyari over the lingering fuel scarcity in the country.

The group coordinator, Okpako Theophilus in a statement released to newsmen yesterday in Abuja, said that the  scarcity of fuel in the country has led to citizens buying fuel at exorbitant prices of up to N1000 per litre.

He also alleged racketeering in the purchase of petroleum products by top government officials in NNPC, leading to harsh economic conditions faced by ordinary Nigerians.

Theophilus accused the NNPCL leadership of jeopardising President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and called for immediate removal of mele kyari to quash the hardship inflicted on citizens due to high fuel prices in the country.

He said, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu means well for this country, as such he should take drastic measures to save Nigerians who are suffering. The NNPCL boss has shown that he cannot manage the petroleum sector, hence he should be sack for competent management.
