Fulani socio-political association in Nigeria Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, has pleaded with President Bola Tinubu for intervention in the case of Abdullahi Bello Bodejo, the president of the association who has been in detention since December 9, 2024.

According to an open letter to the president signed by its national Public Relations Officer (PRO), Ambassador Mohammed Tasiu Suleiman, Bodejo was arrested by men of the Nigerian Army and later transferred to the custody of the Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA) and then the State Security Service (SSS) where he was still being detained.

They claimed that he was detained with no charges, entreating the president to intervene and order his release.

“We express deep concern over the continued detention of our leader despite a court ruling declaring his detentions illegal and unconstitutional.

“Aside the detention, we are also concerned about his health. Alhaji (Dr) Abdullahi Bodejo Bello requires urgent medical attention for an illness he has been suffering from. The fulani community appeals to President Tinubu to use his power to order his immediate and unconditional release,” the letter read.

The association also claimed that Badejo was instrumental to the victory of President Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress in the last presidential election alleging that some people in the government are behind the current situation and travails of their leader.
