Galatasaray Begin Search For Osimhen Successor Amid Transfer Speculation

Turkish champions Galatasaray have begun planning for a future that may not include star striker Victor Osimhen, as reports suggest the club is actively scouting a versatile forward who can support and eventually replace the Nigerian international.

The insight comes from respected Turkish sports commentator Ibrahim Seten, who revealed details of the club’s recruitment strategy during an appearance on the 343 Digital YouTube channel. According to Seten, Galatasaray are targeting a younger, dynamic attacker who can operate across multiple positions in the frontline.

“They’re looking for someone who can fill Osimhen’s role when he’s unavailable, but also play alongside him,” Seten explained. “The profile they want is something like a younger version of Michy Batshuayi — mobile, flexible, and capable of contributing both centrally and from wider areas.”

The move signals growing expectations within the club that Osimhen could depart in the upcoming transfer window. The Nigerian striker has been in outstanding form, playing a pivotal role in Galatasaray’s Turkish Super Lig triumph this past weekend. His performances have attracted sustained interest from top European clubs, with several sides reportedly monitoring his situation closely.

Galatasaray’s proactive approach reflects both ambition and caution. By identifying a player who can immediately complement Osimhen while also developing into a long-term replacement, the club aims to maintain attacking continuity regardless of transfer outcomes.

Osimhen’s potential exit would leave a significant gap, not only in terms of goals but also leadership and presence in the squad. As such, the search for a successor is less about replacing a player than reshaping the team’s attacking identity for the next phase.
