Alejandro Garnacho reportedly favours a move to a Premier League rival, with Manchester United set to lower their asking price for the Argentine.

According to reports by GiveMeSport, Garnacho is set to prioritise a move within the English top flight this summer ahead of options abroad, as he aims to prove himself in the Premier League after falling out with Ruben Amorim.

United would like to offload the 20-year-old as soon as possible, and so they may be forced to lower their £70m valuation to closer to £40m in order to facilitate a move.

The likes of Chelsea and Aston Villa have previously been reported as holding an interest in Garnacho, and he is likely to have no shortage of suitors if he were made available to other Premier League clubs. Interest from abroad has come from the likes of Napoli and Erik ten Hag’s Bayer Leverkusen.

Garnacho has been viewed by many as nailed-on to depart Old Trafford ever since he spoke out publicly against Amorim for bringing him on late during United’s Europa League final defeat against Tottenham Hotspur last month, increasing a rift between the pair.

Garnacho joined United as a 16-year-old from Atletico Madrid and quickly broke through into the first team, scoring important goals for Ten Hag’s Red Devils side aged 18 and becoming a permanent fixture in the side by 2023.

But the winger’s Old Trafford career has quickly turned sour under Amorim, who has favoured the likes of Amad Diallo and Mason Mount over the Argentine.

Both club and player will hope this matter is resolved quickly, as Garnacho targets the chance to play pre-season football next month for whichever club his next destination may be.

The young star may begin next season with a point to prove, but he will be confident that he can return to his best. Should that be in the Premier League, his will be an interesting story to follow.
