They made the call at the unveiling of a book in honor of the former Commandant of the Nigeria Defence Academy (NDA),  Major General Ibrahim Manu Yusuf (rtd).

The book, which is a compendium of written tributes dedicated to Major General Yusuf, intends to serve as a guiding manuscript for the aspiring cadres of Junior Officers within the military echelons.

Titled ‘Welfare, Command And Capacity Building In Nigeria,’ the literary work was formally unveiled at the Nigerian Army Resource Centre in the heart of Abuja, on Thursday.

General Yahaya emphasised the importance for commanders to prioritise the well-being and consistent training of their subordinates.

The honoree, Major General Ibrahim Manu Yusuf, in his remarks, noted that the book serves as a motivational impetus to contribute back to the Armed Forces and by extension, the broader society fostering the growth of capacities from nascent military students to higher echelons of command.

The editor-in-chief of the compendium, Prof. Okere Ahmed, who is also the provost at the National Defense College, Abuja,  expressed optimism that it would   bring solutions to the myriad of challenges confronting the Nigerian Military and Armed Forces on the global stage.
