Genocide Against Christians Is Real In Nigeria – Bishop Ezeokafor

The Bishop of Awka Catholic Diocese, Anambra state, Most Rev Paulinus Ezeokafor, has spoken in support of the claim that genocide is being perpetrated against Christians in the country.

He also stated that the current wave of abductions of school children and worshippers in Churches is a plot by religious fundamentalists to provide shields for themselves should the United States of America President Donald Trump decide to launch a military attack on Nigeria in defence of Christians over genocide being perpetrated against them.

The clergy spoke during this year’s Corpus Christi procession commemoration at the St. Patrick’s Cathedral Parish, Awka, on Sunday.

He also warned that there were plots to Islamise Nigeria.

He said, “There is a serious threat against Christians in Nigeria and there are plans to Islamise Nigeria”.

“Abduction of school children is to provide a shield against Trump’s warning concerning genocide against Christians in Nigeria”, Bishop Ezeokafor stated further.

Urging Christians to be vigilant at all times in the wake of the current escalating insecurity situation in the country, the clergy also encouraged them to commit the government to prayers for divine intervention.
