Liverpool icon Steven Gerrard has doubled down on his belief that Paris Saint-Germain will be crowned European champions this season, praising the French side’s resilience and quality after their thrilling semifinal first-leg victory over Bayern Munich.

Speaking on TNT Sports, the former England midfielder explained that PSG have been his pick from the very start of the competition. He pointed to their ability to perform under pressure and their attacking firepower as key reasons why they stand above the rest.

“It’s been PSG for me since the beginning,” Gerrard said. “I haven’t placed any money on it, but my choice has always been them. After watching them reach the final last year, I just think that when they’re firing on all cylinders, they are incredibly difficult to beat.”

PSG edged past Bayern Munich 5–4 in a dramatic first leg at the Parc des Princes.

The result puts the Ligue 1 champions in a strong position, but Gerrard cautioned that the job is far from over.

To secure their place in the final, PSG will need another commanding performance in next week’s return leg at the Allianz Arena.

Bayern, known for their home strength and never-say-die attitude, are expected to push the visitors to the limit.

Nevertheless, Gerrard remains confident that Luis Enrique’s men have the composure and talent to finish the job and book a ticket to the showpiece event.
