Girl Dies Fetching Water From Domestic Well

Men of the Kwara State Fire Service yesterday recovered the body of an 11- year-old girl, Nabilat, from a domestic well in Ilorin, the state capital.

LEADERSHIP Sunday gathered that the girl fell into the well at Busari Alao Street, Ikoyi community at Irewolede area Ilorin, Ilorin West local government area.

Spokesman of the state fire service, Hassan Adekunle, said, “The terrible incident occurred at about 10:35hrs and the brigade was summoned through an exchange telephone call by one Mr Mayowa living in that neighbourhood.

“Firemen were able to recover the body from the well and later handed it over to one family member. According to the report, the girl went to fetch water and one of her legs suddenly slipped and she tumbled down into the well and died.”
