The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Gombe State for 2027 election, Dr. Jamilu Isyaku Gwamna, has pledged to make youth empowerment the cornerstone of his administration. He promised to expand opportunities in entrepreneurship, digital innovation, the creative economy and job creation.

Gwamna, in a statement issued on Monday by his spokesperson, Ibrahim Sani Shawai, said young people remain the state’s greatest asset and deserve deliberate investments that would enable them to contribute meaningfully to Gombe’s development.

He said his administration would implement inclusive and sustainable policies focused on education, healthcare, skills acquisition and economic empowerment to unlock the potential of the state’s youthful population.

“Our youths are the backbone of Gombe State. Investing in their education, health, skills and economic empowerment is not optional. A prosperous Gombe can only be built by empowering our young people to realise their full potential,” he said.

The APC flag bearer assured that youth development programmes under his government would be accessible to young men and women across all parts of the state, with special attention to the creative industry, digital technology, innovation, agriculture, vocational training and small business development.

According to him, equipping young people with relevant skills and resources would position them to compete effectively in the modern economy while reducing unemployment.

Gwamna also praised Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for initiating youth development and empowerment programmes, pledging to consolidate on those achievements by introducing additional initiatives aimed at expanding opportunities for young people.

The governorship candidate further promised to create an investment-friendly environment that would attract businesses, support entrepreneurship and stimulate economic growth, saying the strategy would generate sustainable employment for thousands of youths.
