Presenting the committee’s report, Hon. Aliyu Baba Manu, Chairman of the Appropriation Committee and representative of Gombe North Constituency, explained that after extensive budget defense sessions with Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), significant adjustments were made.

He explained that Capital receipts were increased by N42 billion, primarily allocated to the State Urban Renewal, Water, Agriculture, and Health (SURWASH) programme. The internal revenue projection was adjusted upward by N639.5 million.

In terms of sectoral allocations, the economic sector, which covers capital projects, received N178.4 billion, representing 70.3% of the total budget. The social sector was allocated N62.1 billion, making up 24.5%, while the administrative and law and justice sectors received N9.5 billion and N3.9 billion, representing 3.7% and 1.5% respectively.

The Speaker of the House, Hon. Abubakar Mohammed Luggerewo led a detailed clause-by-clause review of the appropriation bill, culminating in its third reading and subsequent passage into law.
