In a move to boost livelihoods and promote sustainable development, the Gombe State Government under the leadership of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has commenced the training and empowerment of numerous households across the state through the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) project.

The initiative, which focuses on building capacity across the Environment, Agriculture, and Water Resources value chains, is equipping beneficiaries with both technical skills and seed capital to start and manage income-generating ventures in key sectors such as horticulture (using greenhouse facilities), fish farming, and poultry farming.

The programme is part of the state government’s commitment to enhancing resilience to climate change, improving food security, and reducing poverty.

This training and empowerment is in line with Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s vision to make Gombe a model of environmental sustainability and agricultural productivity.

Through the ACReSAL project, the Governor is not only addressing the challenges of land degradation and climate vulnerability but also building a more prosperous future for the people.
