Gombe Gov Appoints Chairman, Members Of State Drugs Agency

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa has approved the appointment of chairman and members of the Gombe State Drugs and Medical Consumables Management Agency (GSDMCMA).

The secretary to the state government (SSG), Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, who announced the governor’s approval, named Dr. Ismail Jibrin Kwami as chairman, with Hajiya Maimuna Idi, Dahiru Kala and Dr. Danladi Adamu Bojude of the Federal Teaching Hospital FTH Gombe as members.

Also appointed as members are Alhassan Yahaya Abdullahi, representing the Civil Society Organisations; Permanent secretaries of the ministries of the Justice and Health and Pharm. Sebastine Zubairu, representing the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria.

 Others are Dr. Ahmed Adamu Girbo, representing the Nigeria Medical Association;  Idris Musa, representing National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives; Adamu Yusuf Degri, representing Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists; Umar Usman Gombe, representing Community Health Practitioners Association and a representative of  NAFDAC,  while the executive secretary of the agency,  Pharm Caleb Faransa will serve as secretary.

According to the SSG, all the appointments are with effect from October 11, 2023.

Similarly, Governor Inuwa has approved the constitution of the board of Gombe Geographic Information Systems (GOGIS), with Professor James Kaltho as chairman.

The SSG, who conveyed the governor’s approval, announced the following as members: Surv. Zakari Abubakar Difa, Ado Gabanni, Philomina Jabuwa, Maikano Abdullahi (Hakimin Doma), Permanent Secretaries of the Ministries of Justice, Environment, Finance and Local Governments.

Other board members are, director, Lands, Gombe State Surveyor- General and director-general, GOGIS, Dr. Kabiru Usman Hassan, while the legal adviser of the Agency will serve as secretary.

All the appointments are with immediate effect.
