The All Progressives Congress (APC) Senatorial Candidate for Gombe South in the forthcoming 2027 election, Jerry Joseph Damara, has donated air conditioners and generators to the palaces of three prominent traditional rulers in the zone.

The items were presented to the palaces of the Bala Waja, Alhaji Mohammed Danjuma Mohammed, the Nidugrah Cham, Dr James Chachis, and the Folo Dadiya, Alhaji Abdulkadir Abubakar Galadima.

LEADERSHIP learns that Mr Damara had earlier pledged to provide the items during separate visits to the monarchs, where he observed the difficult conditions caused by intense heat, particularly as the palaces regularly host large numbers of visitors. He pledged to provide each palace with four standing air conditioners and a generator capable of powering the units during electricity outages.

A delegation led by former Chairman of Balanga Local Government Area, Alhaji Salisu Ibrahim, delivered the items on behalf of the candidate. Speaking during the presentations, Alhaji Ibrahim said the visit was aimed at fulfilling a promise made to the traditional rulers. He reaffirmed Mr Damara’s commitment to supporting institutions that play vital roles in community development and peacebuilding.

At the palace of the Bala Waja, Alhaji Mohammed Danjuma Mohammed expressed appreciation for the gesture, describing it as a demonstration of sincerity and respect for traditional institutions. He commended the candidate for honouring his commitment within a short period and inspected the items as they were being offloaded.

Similarly, at the palace of the Nidugrah Cham, members of the delegation also pledged continued maintenance and servicing of the provided air conditioners and generators. In his remarks, Dr James Chachis, while commending the flag bearer, said Mr Damara had built a reputation for keeping his word.

The Folo Dadiya, Alhaji Abdulkadir Abubakar Galadima, also expressed gratitude for the donation, describing it as a timely intervention. He offered prayers for God’s blessings and success in Mr Damara’s future aspirations. The presentation ceremony was attended by several APC stakeholders and public office holders in the zone.
