Gov AbdulRazaq, IEDPU Celebrate Mutawali Of Ilorin Alimi AbdulRazaq At 70

Kwara State governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU) have paid glowing tributes to the Mutawali of Ilorin, Dr. Alimi AbdulRazaq, as he marks his 70th birthday, describing him as a symbol of humility, excellence and selfless service.

In a congratulatory statement, Governor AbdulRazaq celebrated his elder brother, saying his life exemplifies hard work, resilience, excellence and service to God, humanity and the Ilorin community.

The governor commended Dr. AbdulRazaq’s “Solomonic leadership,” describing him as a dependable brother and a worthy custodian of the values of the AbdulRazaq family and the Ilorin Emirate.

“Despite being a man of many firsts like our late father, AGF AbdulRazaq, SAN, Dr. Alimi remains incredibly humble and gracious at every turn. It is the reason we all adore him,” the governor said.

He prayed to Allah to grant the celebrant continued good health, happiness and steadfastness in faith and service.

Similarly, the national president of the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), Alhaji Abdulmumini Abdulmalik, congratulated Dr. AbdulRazaq on attaining the milestone, describing him as “a chip off the old block” who has carved a distinguished path in law, business and politics.

Abdulmalik noted that despite his remarkable achievements, the Mutawali of Ilorin has remained modest and approachable.

He recalled that Dr. AbdulRazaq made history about four decades ago as the first indigene of the Ilorin Emirate to earn a doctorate degree in law.

The IEDPU president also praised his contributions to community development and nation-building, particularly his leadership as chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Iron Ore Mining Company, Itakpe, between 2001 and 2003.

He commended Dr. AbdulRazaq’s moderating role in community and national affairs and described him as a role model whose life continues to inspire many within and beyond the Ilorin Emirate.

Abdulmalik prayed for Allah to grant the elder statesman long life, sound health and many more years of service to humanity.
