” As Civil servants, we are supposed to report to work by 8:am and closed by 4:pm. Unfortunately these category of individuals would not abide by this rule.
“The same staff of governor’s office, yesterday my team went to that office and ruled lines.
“My team arrived at the governor’s office yesterday and took note of workers that were not in duty.
“Today, the team came back and some workers still came late to work despite the presence of his team yesterday and hence the decision to shut them out”.
The Head of Service stated that it was part of the administrative measures to ensure to stop civil servants from coming to work late.
Reacting on the issue, one of the civil servants Mr. Tom (surname witheld) who spoke bitterly on the issue stated that he didn’t come to work late,” I had already resumed duty to work but went out to buy recharge card at the old secretariat upon trying to return back to my office only to be shut out by security men who said that they were acting according to the instructions of the state governor who just returned back home from lengthy foreign trip.
“Am not a late comer, I only went out to buy a recharge card only to be shut out by our boss the state governor who have been away in the last three weeks,” the civil servant maintained.
